About me

My name is Emma and I grew up in North Otago, New Zealand.

I am profoundly deaf in both ears – hence the name of my website is “Silent World Photography.” As well as the personal connection, photography is a very visual hobby so being Deaf, photography has no barriers.



Growing up, I’ve always had an interest in art, then this has developed into a love of photography during high school. Not only because photography was one of my high school subjects, over time it became a hobby that I have spent lots of my time refining. I did a lot of photography sessions for friends, capturing their special moments like birthdays, celebrations, and family time as well as documenting sport competitions, community events and award ceremonies.
